University of Pittsburgh Kendo DojoKendo Seminar 11/19 and 20, 2005 with Maeda Sensei
Participants were eager to learn from Maeda sensei.
Maeda sensei took time to explain the finer points of kata.
Even our youngest members benefited from Maeda sensei's kata instruction.
Kihon in bogu was an important part of the practice.
On Saturday afternoon, Maeda sensei offered a question and answer session.
The weak winter sun cast a pale glow over the dojo.
Everyone got a chance to practice keiko with Maeda sensei.
Seminar participants deeply appreciated Maeda sensei's instruction and teaching.
The East West Martial Arts Club expressed its appreciation with a small token of gratitude.
A smiling group of participants surrounds Maeda sensei at the conclusion of the seminar.
At the time of the seminar, Shinobu Maeda Sensei held the rank of 7th dan, renshi, and was the Head Instructor of Tennessee Meiji Gakuin High School Kendo Club, Sweetwater, Tennessee. From 1995 to 1999, and 2001-present, he has been a member of the board of the SEUSKF. Maeda sensei participated in the All U.S. Kendo Championships five times, and was elected to the board of the All United States Kendo Federation for 2006-2008. |
